On 20 and 21 November, at the invitation of the Diplomatic Representation of Flanders in the UK, the Alamire Foundation curated two special concert moments in London, bringing the musical heritage of the Low Countries to life.

As a tribute to the fallen soldiers of World War I, The Band of the Grenadier Guards performed in the Guard's Chapel, followed by the Flemish Utopia Ensemble, which presented a carefully curated programme of Franco-Flemish polyphony from sixteenth-century Antwerp.

This was followed the next day by a performance in the Chapel Royal, an iconic venue that, as the sovereign's private chapel, is part of the historic St. James's Palace and was home to composers such as Robert Fayrfax, Thomas Tallis, William Byrd, and Henry Purcell. Utopia provided musical interludes with works by Turnhout, Pevernage, Cornet, Gombert, and Susato. The event was organized by The Old Talbot House Foundation in collaboration with the Flemish Representation in London.
