March 2023 will see the launch of Baroque Influencers, a new festival in Antwerp organized by the University Centre Saint-Ignatius Antwerp (UCSIA) and the University of Antwerp.
Through various concerts and exhibitions, Baroque Influencers will show the impact of the Baroque era and the important role the Jesuits played in Antwerp. The Alamire Foundation is a proud partner in this storyline with a project that it is realizing together with Cappella Mariana on the madrigali spirituali, collections of sacred works by Philippus de Monte (1521-1603), which have an undeniable connection to the Jesuit order. The complete festival programme can be found on the Baroque Influencers website. On 18 March, AMUZ is setting the tone with a concert at the church of St. Charles Borromeo by the Academy of Ancient Music dedicated to the Jesuit Domenico Zipoli.
