Not only does it reveal the beauty of the illuminated music manuscripts from Petrus Alamire’s workshop, it also shows the important role these sources played in the distribution of the Franco-Flemish polyphony of the late fifteenth and early sixteenth centuries and the high regard in which this music was held in the Low Countries and beyond, both in their own time and right up to today.
