From 13 to 16 February, the House of Polyphony welcomes the masters students from a.o. the Haute école de musique de Genève.

With the aim of providing young musicians with a broad perspective on Franco-Flemish polyphony, improvized counterpoint, and performing from original sources, the Alamire Foundation is collaborating with two renowned international institutions. From 13 to 16 February, the House of Polyphony welcomes the masters students from a.o. the Haute école de musique de Genève as part of the project Ciconia Lives, which focuses on the performance practice and lacunae in the oeuvre of Liège composer Johannes Ciconia (c.1371-1412) and contemporaries. A collaboration with the Royal Conservatory of The Hague will follow later this year: over several sessions, staff member Stratton Bull and teacher Isaac Alonso de Molina will introduce a group of students to singing polyphony from mensural notation.
