Leuven is not only a magnet for lovers of plainchant and polyphony. Every autumn, Festival 20·21 also puts the city firmly on the map as a vibrant centre for more recent classical music.

For its upcoming edition, the festival is joining forces with the Alamire Foundation to organize a course by Davidsfonds Academie at the House of Polyphony. In Difficult Music Doesn’t Exist!?, Pieter Bergé, the festival’s artistic director, challenges the persistent notion that twentieth-century art music is difficult to understand. With the right points of entry it can be far more accessible than you might expect.

The course will be given in Dutch and takes place on three consecutive Tuesdays from 29 September, each session running from 14:00 to 16:00. Find out more on the Festival 20·21 website.
