Since February, masters students at LUCA School of Arts in Leuven have been able, for the second consecutive year, to take the elective course Early Music at the Alamire Foundation. Over the course of eight sessions, led by staff member Stratton Bull, the students were introduced to the fundamentals of medieval and Renaissance music.
The course will conclude with a public final presentation on 8 May at 3:00 p.m., held at the House of Polyphony. During this event, the students will present the topics covered throughout the classes, including performance from mensural notation in historical sources, the application of historical techniques to modern instruments, and the basic principles of solmisation.
Attendance at the final presentation is free. To guarantee a seat please register via this link.
