In the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, Flanders experienced an unprecedented artistic and cultural flowering. In parallel with an economy that was running at full throttle, the cities of the Low Countries were filled with magnificent architectural gems, along with works of art that can still be admired in the greatest museums worldwide. At the same time, composers and musicians from our regions also emerged as the absolute stars of the moment. Franco-Flemish polyphonists were in great demand at important courts and churches and thus spread throughout Western Europe. Find out more about the polyphonists' craft at a “salon lecture” in Park Abbey.
