From 20 March to 17 June, the exhibition Revoir Van Eyck. Rencontre avec un chef-d'œuvre. La Vierge du Chancelier Rolin runs at the Louvre.

The exhibition focuses on a number of masterpieces by the Flemish painter Jan van Eyck, including the restored Madonna of Chancellor Rolin and the Annunciation. To mark the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Alamire Foundation, the Flemish Delegation in France, and the Louvre will join hands to organize the lecture-performance Réécouter Van Eyck: Musique sacrée devant ses images sacrées in the Auditorium Michelle Laclotte (Louvre) on Wednesday 3 April at 7 pm.

In this lecture-performance, Bart Demuyt (general director of the Alamire Foundation), M. Jennifer Bloxam (Herbert H. Lehman Professor of Music Emerita at Williams College, US), and ensemble in residence Cappella Pratensis will place vocal Franco-Flemish polyphony and two Marian paintings back into the original sonic environments of the religious institutions for which they were created. This will be followed by a concert by Cappella Pratensis at the Oratoire du Louvre on 4 April at 7 pm. The ensemble will bring the story of the Annunciation to life in the context of the Missa Ecce ancilla Domini by Guillaume Du Fay.

More information about the lecture-performance can be found on the Louvre's website.
