On Sunday 10 September, the House of Polyphony will open its doors on the occasion of Open Monument Day.

In addition to the Library of Voices and the Alamire Study Centre, where plainchant and polyphony are studied and made accessible using the latest technologies, the House of Polyphony is also part of our operation on the Park Abbey site in Leuven. The historical building houses a beautiful concert space and a growing collection of musical instruments (originals and replicas) that serve our valorization projects.

In cooperation with Leuven Orgelstad, we will introduce visitors during Open Monument Day to organ music and the workings of an organ using the 'Doe-orgel', a didactic instrument that we’ll put together on site. The session will conclude with a small recital in which organist Stan Van Rompay will play the historical Italian Russo organ (1713) and Dutch chamber organ (c. 1840) in the House of Polyphony.

Where? House of Polyphony, Abdij van Park 1
Time? 2pm: Doe-orgel (max. 20 people) ; 3pm: recital (max. 60 people)
